The Gobbi: A car to celebrate the German unification

The Gobbi
German magazine "Der Spiegel" has an article about a car to celebrate the German unification 15 years ago. File this under "strange, but true".
The car consists of two halves: the front comes from a VW Golf II (Western German car), the back is from a Trabant (Eastern German car)!
This special project car is done by mobile.de, a German car sales website. Both cars have been bought in the internet for less than 1000 Euro together and it took them around 400 hours to re-assemble them.
And the best thing is: you can buy that car on eBay! Just click .
Ahh, there is one problem: You are not allowed to drive it on public streets, at least in Germany.
